International Convention and Competitions

The Guitar Foundation of America is excited to be back in-person for the 2022 Convention and Competitions from June 29 – July 2, 2022 at the University of Indianapolis, Indianapolis, IN. This annual event brings together classical guitar masters and enthusiasts from all over the world, including some of the most elite performers of classical guitar. The 2022 GFA International Convention and Competitions will be hosted by Nemanja Ostojic, Associate Adjunct Professor.
The four-day convention includes three concerts per day, a wide array of lectures, hands-on workshops, masterclasses and private lessons, vendor expo and luthier showcase, and a Hall of Fame awards ceremony. This year’s artists include Eliot Fisk, Eduardo Fernandez, the Beijing Guitar Duo, Aniello Desiderio, the Canadian Guitar Quartet, Goran Krivokapic, Michael Partington, the Minneapolis Guitar Quartet, Duo Noire, Luigi Attademo, Pablo Garibay, Gerard Abiton, Johan Smith (2019 GFA International Concert Artist Competition winner), Tritonus Guitar Trio (2019 GFA International Ensemble Competition winner), and Bokyung Byun (2021 GFA International Concert Artist Competition winner). The convention will host two of the most prestigious classical guitar competitions in the world – the GFA International Concert Artist Competition and the GFA International Youth Competition.
