The two-week long 38th Guitar Course/Festival at Chateau De Ligoure in Solignac-Le Vigen, France winds down this weekend with the final day of lessons, master classes, presentations, and concerts taking place Saturday, August. 22. The 25th International Guitar Festival Forum Gitarre Wien kicks off on Monday, August 24 and runs through Sunday, August 30 in Vienna, Austria. Opening night includes performances by Romanian classical guitarist Alecu Vicentiu and Spanish classical guitarist Margarita Escarpa. Other featured performances include Denis Azabagic, Marcin Dylla, and more. Lectures by Michael Macmeeken, Carlo Marchione, and Daniel Zucali. In its 13th year, the City of Derry Guitar Festival in Northern Ireland kicked off on August 20 with a performance by Spanish classical guitarist Carlos Bonell. The program continues Friday, August 21 with a performance by Wiktoria Szubelak from Poland. Saturday’s program includes concerts by classical guitarist Declan Zapala and flamenco guitarist Amir John Haddad.
