Classical Guitar Music to Play: ‘Estudio’ by Tárrega

Edited by Neil Smith

Francisco Tárrega (1852–1909), is a Spanish composer often referred to as the “father of classical guitar.” One of his most well known pieces, Recuerdos de la Alhambra, is considered standard repertoire for classical guitarists.

In this “Estudio,” use the following in Bar 2 to enable the 4th finger to slide up the 1st string. Often, an easy (2nd bar) fingering is used here but really, the 4th finger should remain in touch to connect the patterns.
