Followers of guitarist Miloš Karadaglić were understandably disappointed when he was forced to cancel his winter/spring tour of the U.S. and Europe because of a thumb injury. Well, he is on the mend from that setback, set to return to the stage near summer’s end. In the meantime, his many fans in in the UK (where he lives) are able to enjoy the personable and articulate musician in a different role—as one of three judges on the newly started second season of Sky Arts’ Guitar Star TV competition. He’ll be joined by American music producer Tony Visconti—best-known for the work he did with David Bowie through the years—and master jazz/pop guitarist George Benson. All three will also act as mentors for contestants, lending their particular expertise.
The popular program is somewhat unusual, in that it features guitarists of all age groups and from many genres. It is, top say the least, eclectic. Wish we could see it here in the U.S.

To kick off the week, here’s a lovely video clip of Miloš in action several years ago, playing Enrique Granados’ “Oriental,” which appeared on Miloš’ Mediterraneo album.
