If you’ve ever been to a NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) convention in Anaheim, California, you know that it is an overwhelming and thoroughly cacophonous mega-gathering in which thousands upon thousands of musicians of every stripe, musical instrument manufacturers and retailers, educators, members of the press, and assorted fanatics who crawl out of the woodwork from who-knows-where, get together and go from booth to crowded booth plucking, strumming, bowing, blowing, and beating everything in sight. Pity the poor classical-guitar makers, who have to compete with screaming electric guitars being played through amplifiers turned up to “11” and an overall ambient noise level that can make ears bleed.
Nevertheless, NAMM is always an important showcase for classical-guitar (and strings) makers and sellers, with a number of companies introducing new models. At the latest NAMM confab, Jan. 22-25, 2015, Córdoba Guitars unveiled several appealing new offerings. From the NAMM floor, Córdoba product manager Brian Schmidt gives CG an exclusive look at their new classical guitars:

We’ll have more from NAMM, including a couple of classical-guitar performances and interviews, in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
