Here’s a truly wonderful way to pass an hour’s time: Segovia at Los Olivos is a documentary that was shot in 1968 by producer/director Christopher Nupen, in which the maestro speaks extensively about his career, his craft, his guitars, and composers, and also plays magnificently. It was shot at his mountaintop idyll in Spain, Los Olivos. Typical of Segovia, he is thoughtful, passionate and outspoken. Director Nupen also made documentaries about Paganini, Sibelius, and Tchaikovsky; clearly he’s an enthusiastic fan of classical music! —Blair Jackson
