Video Pick of the Week: Alexandra Whittingham Plays Albéniz’s ‘Capricho Catalán’

Here’s another choice clip from the talented 20-year-old English guitarist Alexandra Whittingham—a beautifully expressive version of Isaac Albéniz’s Capricho Catalán, originally written for piano in 1890 as the fifth movement of composer’s six-part Suite España. It has been become a ‘standard’ in the classical guitar repertoire, recorded by everyone from Segovia (in 1975) to David Russell, Emanuele Segre, and Jason Vieaux, to name a few.
