Video Pick of the Week: Ana Vidovic Plays Torroba’s ‘Torija’ and Takemitsu’s Arrangement of ‘Over the Rainbow’

We could all use more grace and beauty in our lives during these troubled times, so here’s a newly posted video of Ana Vidovic playing Federico Moreno Torroba‘s sublime ‘Torija’ followed by Toru Takemitsu’s wonderful arrangement of Howard Arlen’s melody for the song from the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, “Over the Rainbow.” (The Torroba piece is from his  fabulous Castillos de España suite, published in 1970; Vidovic recorded it on her excellent 2007 Naxos album Federico Moreno Torroba: Guitar Music 1. —Blair Jackson
