Video Pick of the Week: Andrea Gonzalez Caballero Plays Isaac Albéniz’s ‘Cataluña’

Not much explication is needed for this Pick, as the featured piece—Isaac Albéniz’s Cataluña, from his epic multi-part work, Suite española, Op. 47, no doubt familiar to most of you—is played here by a guitarist we’ve featured occasionally in this space—the Spaniard Andrea Gonzalez Caballero. I was delighted to finally meet Ms. Caballero at a Manuel Barrueco concert in San Francisco last year; the previous night she had played her own concert in nearby San Jose. This performance is from a concert in Germany last fall. —Blair Jackson
