OK, so it’s a gimmick to have a duo playing a piece with four hands on one guitar. That doesn’t mean it isn’t cool, and this is definitely one of the best examples of this we’ve found. Duo Siqueira Lima , consisting of Uruguayan Cecilia Siqueira and Brazilian Fernando Lima, met at a 2001 guitar competition in Brazil, where they tied for first place, and by the next year started playing together as duo. They have performed extensively in Europe and the Americas and have three CDs under their collective belt, as well. “Tico Tico” is perhaps the best-known piece to come from the pen of Brazilian composer Zequinha de Abreu (1880-1935).
