Yorgos Nousis is a Greek guitarist and composer currently living in Vienna. Since he started performing in the early ’90s, he has played in many European countries, recorded ten albums, and also had nearly a dozen of his original pieces, including this week’s Pick) published by Doberman-Yppan. His compositions have been described as “a fusion of classical, flamenco, and jazz elements, influenced by the traditional Greek music.” This particular work dips into several different genres, starting out fast and somewhat jazzy, moving into a beautifully lyrical ballad space at about the three-minute mark, and then wrapping up with a return to the feeling of the opening. It looks like it would be a lot of fun (and a challenge) to play! In the video, Nousis plays a Vasilis Sigletos guitar. —Blair Jackson
