This work featured in many recitals by Segovia both in the programme and as an encore. The crossed left-hand fingerings preserve the note values as far as possible and occasionally permit prepared slides. Take care with the melodic line at points such as bar 11 (C – D); make a clear separation between these seconds and others occurring across strings.
