Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts Guitar Performance program offers a Bachelor of Music, Master of Music and Performance Diploma in Classical Guitar Performance, preparing students with the training and background to succeed as a professional classical guitarist. Students graduate with comprehensive musicianship skills, performance capability, analytic abilities and stylistic knowledge.
Denis Azabagic, artist faculty and head of guitar, invites you to experience the collaborative culture of the CCPA Guitar Performance program at Roosevelt University. Azabagic has recorded with Cedille, Bridge Records, Naxos and Opera Tres. He is a seasoned performer, frequently performing solo recitals and as the second half of Cavatina Duo, and has been a guest instrumentalist and soloist with Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Sinfonietta and Madrid Symphony. Azabagic has won numerous international guitar competition awards.
Bring your creativity to the Music Conservatory at CCPA. Students learn not only from their teachers, fellow students and from the Conservatory’s rich academic curricula, but also from the wide range of music that they encounter — from performances by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Lyric Opera to those by world-class jazz, blues and rock musicians at festivals, clubs and performing arts venues throughout the city. Students acquire additional experience through the many teaching and performance opportunities they have in the Chicago area, and through the connections Roosevelt provides its students to nationally and internationally known music organizations and artists. All of these opportunities enable CCPA students to build strong foundations for their future careers.
